A well-built, fragrance-free daily moisturizer with ceramides and niacinamide, light enough under sunscreen. Ignore the "non-comedogenic" badge — the term is unregulated in the US and means nothing. If you are acne-prone and it brings up small bumps, switch to Vanicream. Check the box: the SPF 30 and Matte versions are different formulas.

Good fit

No fragrance, no dye, no acid, so very little to react to. It is light enough to wear twice a day without feeling loaded, which matters on skin that objects to being smothered.

How this formula works.

A moisturizer has three moves: put water into the bricks, replace the glue between them, or seal the wall. This cream does all three, gently. Glycerin pulls water in, ceramide NP is the glue, squalane and dimethicone are the light seal, which is why it disappears instead of sitting on the surface.

Full clinical explanation

Niacinamide is the interesting part. It does not add fats; it increases how many ceramides skin makes for itself, so the barrier rebuilds from inside as well as topping up from outside. That is how the cream works while staying this light.

The box says non-comedogenic. That term is not regulated in the United States — no legal definition, no required test. The cream contains myristyl myristate, which scored the maximum on the old comedogenicity scale, though those ratings came from rabbit ears and translate poorly to human faces. It is not a prediction that this will clog you — it means the badge is not evidence either way.
