Letybo vs Daxxify

Letybo is the lower-cost way to treat frown lines. It is a botulinum toxin type A, approved in the US for the lines between the eyebrows. Daxxify is the one with a published duration figure. In its trials, half the people treated still had none-or-mild frown lines at about 24 weeks. The two have never been tested against each other.

Letybo

Not for forehead lines or crow's feet

In the US, Letybo is for the frown lines between the eyebrows only.

Daxxify covers the same frown lines. It is also used for a neck muscle condition called cervical dystonia. That is not a cosmetic use.

How long it lasts

Letybo

No duration figure published

Daxxify

About 24 weeks in a published analysis

Half the people treated still had none-or-mild frown lines at that point.

The at-home or drugstore version

Letybo

No home version of the injection

"Botox in a bottle" serums are sold everywhere. But a cream sits on the surface of the skin. It cannot reach a muscle several millimetres down.

Daxxify

No home version of the injection

The same is true here. Nothing sold over the counter places a toxin into a muscle.

Who tends to be happy with it

Letybo

  • Best for — People treating frown lines who want to keep the cost down.
  • The mindset — The three to four months most toxins give you is fine.

Daxxify

  • Best for — People who would rather come back less often.
  • The mindset — Fewer visits is worth paying for.

The fine print

Letybo

Letybo is made by Hugel. It was approved in the US in 2024 and launched in 2025, for glabellar (frown) lines only. The labelled dose is 20 units, given as five injections of 4 units.

Daxxify

Daxxify is made by Revance and was approved in the US in 2022, for glabellar lines and for cervical dystonia. The labelled dose for frown lines is 40 units, given as five injections of 8 units. The 24-week figure comes from a published analysis; it is not on the label, which gives no duration.

Neither product is approved in the US for forehead lines or crow's feet.

Both labels state that their units cannot be converted into any other product's units. The unit scales are unrelated, so the dose numbers say nothing about relative strength.

Common questions

Questions Patients Ask

Does Daxxify last longer than Letybo?

Nobody knows. Daxxify has a published duration figure — a median of about 24 weeks in its own trials — and Letybo has none, because its trials were not designed to measure duration. That is a difference in what was studied, not evidence that one wears off sooner. The two have never been compared directly.

Why does Daxxify use twice as many units?

Because a unit means something different in each brand. Both labels state their units cannot be converted into another product's units. The count is not a measure of strength.

Which is cheaper?

Letybo entered the US as a lower-cost option and Daxxify launched at a premium, though Daxxify's price was reduced within about a year. What you actually pay depends on the clinic. Ask for the whole-treatment price.

Is Letybo as safe as Daxxify?

Both carry the same FDA boxed warning about the toxin spreading beyond the injection site. Letybo's approval rested on three trials in about 1,270 people. Neither has a safety advantage established over the other.

Is either approved for the forehead?

No. In the US both are approved only for frown lines between the eyebrows.

Does Letybo contain human blood products?

Yes, it contains human serum albumin, as most brands do. Daxxify is the exception — it uses a lab-made peptide instead.
