Endolift vs Morpheus8

Endolift threads a thin laser fibre under your skin and heats outwards from there. It is a small procedure done under local anaesthetic, and no clinical trial of it has been published. Morpheus8 presses insulated needles down through your skin and heats at their tips. It is a course of treatments with more evidence behind it, though still very little.

Endolift

A woman in dark eye shields lies back while a practitioner works on her neck, where a small red light glows under the skin.

Endolift works from a fibre placed under the skin. The red glow on the neck is the aiming light showing where the fibre sits.

Morpheus8

The Morpheus8 tip up close. The gold pins are what carry the radiofrequency energy below the surface — the needles are the delivery route, not the treatment itself.

The differences that matter

14 comparison points

What you actually do

Endolift

A laser fibre passed under the skin

The fibre goes in through a needle entry point, under local anaesthetic. It is mostly done outside the United States.

Morpheus8

Needles stamped into the skin, then heated

A row of needles is pressed into the skin and fired, over and over, across the area.

How it works

Endolift

1470 nm light, absorbed by water and fat

Heat is deposited a short distance around the fibre tip. It reduces a small amount of fat, and shrinks the underside of the skin.

Morpheus8

1 MHz radiofrequency between the pins

The heating is electrical rather than light-based, so it does not depend on skin pigment. The pins are insulated except for the last 0.5 mm, which keeps heat off the surface.

How deep it goes

Endolift

Underneath the skin, not down into it

The fibre travels in the plane just below the skin, so the energy source sits inside the tissue rather than on top of it.

Morpheus8

Whatever depth the needle is set to

Tips run from a fixed 0.5 mm up to 7 mm.

What it is best at

Endolift

Small-volume fat reduction and tightening

Outside the US it is used along the jawline, under the chin, around the eyes, and on arms and knees. That is what it is used for, not what has been measured.

Morpheus8

Skin texture and sunken acne scars

Acne scarring has the best evidence of any use in this class. One trial treated each person with both methods. It scored radiofrequency microneedling level with fractional CO2 laser on acne scars.

How long the results last

Endolift

Not known, because nothing was measured

No study has followed people after Endolift. So there is no measured durability at all.

Morpheus8

Measured up to 6 months, and no further

A review of 42 studies found the collagen change is slow, and still improving 6 months on. Nothing measures how long results hold after that. Clinic copy saying 1 to 3 years has no source.

The downside

Endolift

Entry-point marks, swelling and bruising

Clinics describe several days up to about two weeks. No study backs that figure.

Morpheus8

Redness in essentially everyone

In a 44-person acne scar study, redness happened in 100% of patients and swelling in 30%. A 33-person neck study put downtime at 3 to 4 days.

Sessions

Endolift

Not established

There is no published protocol. Ask the person offering it how many sessions they plan, and on what basis.

Morpheus8

1 to 6, every 3 to 6 weeks

Labelling adds that 3 to 5 sessions are generally needed at mild to moderate depths. Published trials most often used 3.

Cost

Endolift

No reliable published price

No group publishes an average price for it.

Morpheus8

Consumer-reported figures only

The averages that circulate come from prices patients report online. No group audits them.

The at-home or drugstore version

Endolift

There is no home version

Endolift puts a laser fibre underneath your skin. Nothing sold for home use goes under the skin at all.

Morpheus8

Home wands and rollers are a different thing

A home radiofrequency wand puts a fraction of the power into the surface of the skin. It never reaches the depth the clinic device works at.

Who tends to be happy with it

Endolift

  • Best for — Someone who wants a small amount of fat and slackness dealt with along the jaw, and who accepts an entry point and a visible recovery.
  • The mindset — Comfortable with a treatment that has almost no published evidence.

Morpheus8

  • Best for — Someone whose main concern is skin texture or acne scarring, who wants nothing passed under the skin.
  • The mindset — A course of treatments, judged at three to six months.

How much evidence sits behind each one

Endolift

Nothing about Endolift has been measured in public. Not how long it lasts, not how often it goes wrong, not how it behaves in different skin tones.

Morpheus8

Morpheus8 has very few studies of its own. A PubMed search returns 16 records, and none of them is a randomised trial.

The fat question runs in opposite directions

Endolift

Fat reduction is part of what Endolift is designed to do. Its wavelength is absorbed by water, and to a degree by fat. Small-volume fat reduction is the point, not a side effect.

Morpheus8

On the Morpheus8 side, fat loss is an unwanted event. It is one of the more common problems reported to the FDA for devices of this type. But the one study that measured it found no change. A split-face study in 30 people scanned under the chin. The skin thickened. The fat layer did not.

Before you book

Endolift

For Endolift, ask who is performing it, and what their plan is if the result comes out uneven.

The fine print

Endolift

No device is cleared under the name "Endolift" — it is a trade name for a technique, not a cleared device name. The laser used is the Eufoton LASEmaR 1500, cleared as a surgical laser (K260489, 29 May 2026) for cutting, ablation, coagulation and laser-assisted lipolysis. Lifting, tightening and skin laxity appear nowhere in it.

Morpheus8

Morpheus8's clearances name no cosmetic use either. K192695, from December 2019, covers electrocoagulation and hemostasis; K231790, from 2023, added "coagulation/contraction of soft tissue". No Morpheus8 clearance names acne scars, wrinkles, laxity, cellulite or fat.

Clearance is not evidence that a treatment works. It means a device was judged similar enough to an earlier one to be sold. Depth is not cleared, which is why InMode's 8 mm marketing figure — 7 mm of needle plus a further 1 mm of heat spreading past it — is a thermal-profile number rather than a cleared specification.

Common questions

Questions Patients Ask

Is Endolift a laser or a radiofrequency treatment?

A laser. It uses a 1470 nm diode laser running at up to 15 W, delivered through a fibre passed under the skin. Morpheus8 is not a laser at all - it delivers 1 MHz radiofrequency electrical current through microneedle electrodes, and it is regulated as an electrosurgical device rather than as a laser.

Is Endolift FDA cleared?

The laser is; the treatment as marketed is not. The Eufoton LASEmaR 1500 holds clearance K260489, granted 29 May 2026, as a surgical laser for cutting, ablation, coagulation and laser-assisted lipolysis. Lifting, tightening and skin laxity are not in that wording, and no device is cleared under the name "Endolift". Where it is performed in the US, it is off-label use of a cleared surgical laser, which is legal but worth knowing.

Which one goes deeper?

Endolift, in the sense that matters: the fibre travels underneath the skin rather than reaching down into it. Morpheus8 goes as deep as the needle is set, up to 7 mm on the largest tips according to FDA paperwork.

Which has more downtime?

Endolift. It involves an entry point, local anaesthetic, and clinics describe marks, swelling and bruising for several days up to about two weeks. Morpheus8 typically means redness that settles over a few days. Neither of those recovery times is a labelled or trial-measured figure.

Does either one melt fat under the chin?

Endolift is designed to reduce a small amount of fat, and laser-assisted lipolysis is in the laser's cleared wording. Morpheus8 is not a fat treatment: it has no fat indication, and the one study that measured the fat layer under the chin by ultrasound after this kind of radiofrequency found it unchanged while the skin layer thickened.

Which has better evidence?

Morpheus8, but only by comparison with almost nothing. No published clinical trial of Endolift was found. Morpheus8 has 16 PubMed records and no randomised controlled trial, and most published radiofrequency microneedling research was run on other devices - Lutronic Genius and Infini, Jeisys, Pollogen, Lumenis and unnamed machines.

What do they cost?

There is no reliable published price for Endolift. For Morpheus8, the best dated figure comes from RealSelf, which reported an average of $1,861 from 124 self-reported patient prices, last updated 10 May 2024, with prices starting at $549 for one small area and a full series costing upwards of $4,000. That is consumer-reported, not audited, not a random sample, US-skewed and now dated. No professional society publishes a price for either treatment.

Safety to keep in mind

RF microneedling can cause serious injury. The FDA has received reports of burns, scarring, loss of fat, nerve damage and disfigurement. Some injuries have needed surgery or other medical treatment. A few days of expected redness is not the full risk picture.

Choose a licensed medical professional trained on the device. Discuss the risks and other treatment options before deciding. RF microneedling should not be done at home.
